Prenatal and Postnatal Pilates
The Prenatal Pilates course is designed to prepare your body to birth your baby. These well-designed Pilates exercises are safe for all trimesters and fitness levels and focus on activating and relaxing both pelvic floor musculature and deep abdominals. Flexibility for all major muscle groups surrounding the pelvis is included as are upper body strengthening exercises. Props including mats, wedges, resistance bands, and therapy balls are provided. Breathing and relaxation training are a vital part of each Prenatal Pilates session.
The Postnatal Pilates course is designed to help your body recover from the birth of your baby by helping you safely rediscover your deep abdominals and pelvic floor. Each week the exercises will increase in difficulty to challenge your core to a greater extent.
By the end of the 6th session of the Postnatal Pilates, you should be ready to safely transition to a beginning level Pilates class and/or to resume a regular exercise routine. A small part of the program will still be dedicated to breathing and relaxation training.
Testimonials tell the story:
“It was great to have a series of exercises to do safely that will help with the pregnancy and delivery, but also the content and discussions I found very helpful, especially being a first time mom. This is a great concept with the combination of exercise and information and I thought it was terrific. Thank you for all the help over the past couple of weeks. I am so glad I attended this series and hope to come again after the baby.”-Audra
“Every new mom should know about Carrie’s class! After having my baby, I tried jogging and ended up frustrated and in pain. After completing Carrie’s post natal class, I feel stronger and more confident to start exercising now that my core is awake! Carrie was personal and professional and did an excellent job of tailoring her program to help me reach my goals.”Leena
